We Would Like...

To transport electricity is necessary. But we can choose the manner of doing it. There is a means which avoids the harmful effects without moving the harm on other populations. The 400 000 volts represent a threat for the environment and tourism, but more importantly we are discovering more and more every day about harmful effects of the electromagnetic radiation on health of the humans and animals.

Taking these effects into consideration, the only favourable alternative is burying the lines. There is opposition to this choice because of cost implications as this is a more expensive investment, but it should be remembered that in the long run the costs balance out. It will, therefore, be necessary to fight the fininancial logic of the electricity suppliers.

We propose to inform the population, to campaign the local councillors and also the Members of Parliament, the general and regional advisers to support us.

You are on the site of Respecter Le Bocage, a non-profit making association, assembled by the inhabitants of 'Le Bocage normand'.
